Thailand-stock market GDP accelerated year-on-year in Q1, supported by recovering tourism numbers from a loosening of Covid-19 restrictions. Singapore trade-sensitive index closed lower, weighted by losses at conglomerates Jardine Matheson Holdings and Jardine Strategic Holdings.

 

The headline equity index is the SET Index, a broader measure tracking performance across all common stocks. The SET is regulated by the Securities Exchange Commission of Thailand, and electronic trading is conducted via SET CONNECT, a trading engine launched in 2012. The SET CONNECT system continually matches the first buy and sell orders on a queue, while simultaneously validating every executed trade through the Member (broker) Terminal.


The match against the auction is used to compute the open and closing prices for a security during opening and closing trading hours. Changed values in the time period between settlement of an Open Outcry and beginning trading on the following day are calculated as the difference between the most recent transaction and settlement on the previous day.
