Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness has now earned more than $350 million in the United States, according to a Forbes report, with another $465 million earned abroad, giving it a worldwide total gross of about $815 million. As of this weekend, the sequel has also passed The Batmans $369M cume, becoming the top-grossing title in 2022 thus far.

 

The movie is rapidly becoming one of the biggest grossers of the year, but still has a bit more to go at home. The hotly contested movie received mixed reviews from audiences and critics, but has rapidly risen to be the top-grossing film in 2022 globally, passing previous champ The Batman. One of the biggest hits this year, Scream 5 has attracted a major fan.

 This film has made millions of undecided fans venture outside of their homes to experience the latest slasher movie compiled by Marvel Studios and Sony. We will have to wait longer to see if the films theatrical popularity is ultimately translated to awards nominations come the year-end, but becoming the only A24-distributed film with an opening in second place to earn $50M is a good enough start, with many more discovering this quite unique and special movie. It took a couple weeks for A24 to widen the movie domestically, when on April 8, it earned $6 million from 1,250 theaters for the sixth-place finish.

 

Distributor A24 released Daniels action-comedy to 10 theaters late March, where it grossed $500,000 (or $50,000 per venue), still a best-seller for a limited release this year. Alex Garlands previous A24 movie, Ex Machina, grossed $25.4 million, while his most recent Paramount movie, Annihilation, grossed $32.7 million.

 

Just under six movies is the original Cruises Top Gun. Bob will need 4.12 more from this weekend in order to best South Park, the figure only reached once this year for films opening over $10M, and that was The Hound.
